Privacy Policy.

We collect some basic information from you if you fill out one of our simple forms, like requesting a quote for services, or asking for a reminder when a waste audit is due. Our forms are hosted on a mirror site of ontariowasteaudits.com—ont365.verio.com—and all browsers will indicate that your information is secured with a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) lock icon, and the URL will begin with an “https:” instead of “http:” if you are sending information securely. If you fill out a form, we don’t ask for much except perhaps a contact name, an email address, a phone number, and maybe some minor information that would help us detail a price for a waste audit at your facilities. We are compliant with the Canadian Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and do not distribute any personal information to outside parties.

When you enter ontariowasteaudits.com, ont365verio.com or ontariowasteaudits.ca—as is the case for almost all websites—some information is collected automatically by our website host statistics systems, for instance, the IP address you are using to access the Internet, what city and country is associated with that IP address, its network domain, the type of device you are using to access the address, your browser type, the date and time that you entered our website, what pages you visited, how long your browser stayed on each page, and if you were referred by a specific link somewhere else on the Internet, for example, a search engine like Google, or a social website like Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn. Here’s a screenshot of one of the analytical systems that is used here, and at most other websites:

Search engines often allow advertising that shows up based upon search keywords. If you searched for specific keywords on various search engines, it is possible that we advertised, and paid the search engine provider to be listed. Generally, places where we advertise clearly mark their paid ads. If you click one, not only do we pay for that click, we also know your search term. We generally also know your search term if you clicked on an earned search engine link to our website. We earn links to our site by gaining recognition for our expertise in the waste auditing industry, which can, in turn, generate publicity.

Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your web browser (if you allow it) that enables the sites or service providers systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information.

If cookies are accepted from our sites, our statistics systems can show us if you have visited before, and can look at all of your visits within a certain timeframe. If cookies are additionally accepted from third parties and advertisers, we could use paid advertisements on other pages offsite based upon pages that you visited earlier on our site.

We use cookies to help us understand and save your preferences for future visits, keep track of advertisements and compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future. We may contract with third-party service providers to assist us in better understanding our site visitors. These service providers are not permitted to use the information collected on our behalf except to help us conduct and improve our business.

If you prefer, you can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies via your browser settings. Like most websites, if you turn your cookies off, some tracking services may not function properly for us, but your experience on our website should work just fine.

Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:

To personalize your experience (your information helps us to better respond to your individual needs)
To improve our website (we continually strive to improve our website offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from you)
To improve customer service (your information helps us to more effectively respond to your requests and needs)

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours’ or others’ rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

Some portions of our website link to other websites. We’ve provided social media links to our corporate Facebook page, a corporate Twitter Page, and our CEO’s LinkedIn page. On our Contact Us page is both a form that you can use to send us a message, or if you prefer to email us, we provide a temporary email address. So when spiders/robots find this temporary email address on our website, and use it for spam, we just delete that address and create a new one. Finally, we provide links to a few Ontario government pages detailing waste audit law. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites mentioned above. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

By using our website, you consent to our websites privacy policy. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page. If there are any questions regarding this privacy policy you may email us here or call 613.850.3646. (Updated Sunday, January 8th, 2023 at 13:02 EDT.)
